History of Schroff Auctions LLC |
4 Generations In The Auction Profession
Schroff Auctions LLC had it’s beginning in 1908 when Julius Kallmeyer and his son, William Kallmeyer saw the need for Auctioneers in and around the area of Hermann, Mo. Thus starting the Auctioneering Service of Kallmeyer & Son. The need for their services and their Auction business has grown ever since. The next member to join the business was the 3rd generation, Joy Kallmeyer, son of William. In 1969 the 4th generation, Roy Schroff, nephew of Joy Kallmeyer (grandson of William) was employed. Shortly thereafter came the name Kallmeyer - Schroff Auctions. Kallmeyer-Schroff Auctions has received numerous civic honors as well as advertising excellence awards at the State & National Auctioneers levels. Roy Schroff and Joy Kallmeyer have received the Hall of Fame Award from The Mo. Professional Auctioneers Association and continue as active members of that organization. The spring of 2003 brought about another name change, Schroff Auctions LLC, as Roy R. Schroff purchased the second half of the auction business from his uncle (Partner), Joy Kallmeyer as Joy semi-retired. Schroff Auctions LLC currently has mainly on location auctions of estates, antiques and collectibles, Real Estate, farm & country auctions, liquidations, equipment and vehicles as well as numerous charity and fund raising events. |
